Adrien Menu

Lives and works in Marseille, France.

The work of Adrien Menu, who graduated from Villa Arson in 2016, seems to follow two main guidelines. The first could be qualified as structural: steel bars, concrete blocks and other materials from the building industry create spaces that evoke industrial sites of unknown activities. The second, more innately sculptural, consists in extracting standard elements such as a sink, a mattress, tarpaulins or soda cans from their usual contexts. Although slightly modified or grafted to other supports, they still remain easily identifiable.
