Born in 1983, lives and works in Rouen, France.
Elia David creates a portrait gallery that oscillates between melancholy and idealism. The Baudelairean reference is based on the melancholy emanating at every moment from the artist’s works, worshiping the fallen, stillborn or misunderstood celebrities. David would gladly call these celebrities stars, as a way of reminding us that what we perceive of the stars are lights of differing intensities and even when we think we can make them out, they may already be extinguished.
