Precarity and attentive gesture are at the heart of Marjolaine Turpin’s work. The artist travels through unknown places and limits without haste, highlights the faults, the gaps, the edges, the fragilities through various plastic gestures then recounts through a variety of discreet and non-authoritarian practices the accidents of the material and its tenuous inscriptions. Composing with the human and natural characteristics of the place, she takes part in a logic of caring and hospitable restraint.
